Eilidh Guthrie is a fine art graduate from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design. Her practice is predominantly sculpture and installation using clay and natural, foraged materials. During third year she was shortlisted for the John Bryne Quaterly Award and the Sustainability First Art Prize. Eilidh’s degree show also encorporated experimental film and bronze casted works and won DJCAD’s Art Science and Visual Thinking Prize and was shortlisted for Visual Art Scotland’s graduate showcase. Her dissertation Art and Science: Communicating Climate Change won the Alan Woods Memorial Prize and was published by BOOM Publications in September 2022. During a break in education, Eilidh had a year long experimental project sourcing natural materials from her home in Kilcreggan. Processing wild clays, plant ashes, rocks and other foraged items, she tested at different temperatures and still has a expanding portfolio of these materials. In 2024, Eilidh graduated DJCAD again with a distinction MFA in Art, Science and Visual Thinking. During this course, she was awarded a grant from the Scottish International Educational Trust.

In October 2024, Eilidh started her Leverhulme-funded PhD Water Issues in Wetlands and Woodlands: A Creative Practice-Led Investigation. Supervised by Professor Mary Modeen and Professor John Rowan, this project works at the intersection of art and geography.
